Indian Head Massage (IHM)
Indian Head Massage (IHM)
Indian Head Massage (as a therapeutic touch) begins with the top part of the back, on to the shoulders, upper arms and extends to the neck, head and scalp, followed by the face. The very prevalent modern-day illness of stress can be characterised by stiff neck and shoulders as tension accumulates in these areas causing fatigue and much discomfort. Techniques used are a range of massage movements designed to stimulate, mobilise, relax and revive. Circulation is stimulated, thereby increasing oxygen to the brain with subsequent improved concentration. Lymphatic flow can be boosted with skin/hair condition also showing an improvement. IHM can bring about a sense of wellbeing as the client can feel relaxed, balanced and peaceful with improved sleep but also feeling revitalised and having renewed energy.
I also offer this massage at Pamper Days on the third Sunday of each month at Breage Village Hall near Helston, Cornwall where other Practitioners offer holistic massage at a reduced rate of £15 for 30 minutes.
The most soothing hour, and beyond, I have had in a long time.
